  • replacing lga 2011 cpu block

Okay, don't hurt yourself falling off the chair and hitting the floor.
It's been a few years, lol. And nothing in this system has changed or been cleaned.
I just replaced the motherboard because the old one was dying.
Water temp is about 30C in this heat, but the cpu at stock is hitting 80C.
I may try fresh artic silver and a reseat to see if the temp improves.
Failing that, just replace the cpu block, with https://www.dazmode.com/store/produc...o-full-nickel/ which is in stock.

Any suggestions, tips or help would be appreciated.

      Hi Daz;
Are you suggesting I dismantle the Phobia UC-1 (without having new seals / O-rings) for the reassembly? I'd likely destroy it trying to take it apart.
      or
Are you suggesting removal of thermal paste residue? Both the cpu and block were shiny copper before the re-application of Tuniq TX-4 thermal grease.

no risk, no reward; if don't feel risking it - do not touch it.

I'm with Daz - if you haven't serviced your loop since it was originally built, you likely have some clogging in the blocks. Time for a full drain/flush & block cleaning, then refill!

Oh yes, your CPU block will be filled with wonderful green stuff. Time to take apart it and clean it properly.

All risk, and a little reward.
I disassembled and washed everything with alcohol and a tooth brush. High pressure alcohol air brush.
After 5 years of running 24/7, it was pretty cooked.
Reassembled and re-installed and then realized I had the intake and output reversed, lol.
Temps are now in the low 50'sC at stock settings.

I should still consider a replacement, some of the copper channels were pretty dissolved/corroded.

Thanks for the boot in the butt, roflmao, no wussies here.
