So to share with everyone my first build log on a forum please bare with me if I've done it wrong lol I'll give it my best try.
This It's a rebuild of a 4790k system with a Titan X Maxwell. I didn't want to go out and buy all new gear new gear with Baby #2 on the way but had to do something before my brain went crazy. Also, it's 1st with hard tube, so this was a really exciting but steep learning curve for me. Oh, and I also decided to start this build 2 weeks before my daughter was born and then she was born early lol. Juggling two kids and this build was definitely kept me on my toes and left me with a 24"x36" space to work in on my desk. yup, 2' x 3' foot space lol.
This idea of this build started way back in 2014. My dream of owning a HexGear case happened after seeing a rockstar Canadian builder, Snef (Stephane Beaulieu) build his Icy Blue Angel II in the White R40. In 2015 I asked him for help and fittings and parts etc, and I was hyped but then lost my income so it had to go on hold for a while. Then in 2017 I FINALLY bit the bullet and decided to do my first Hardline water cooled build (2nd water cooling build ever) and buy the HexGear R40 case. I had some money saved up from building another build, but still spent way over my allowed budget on fittings, parts, case and reused all components from my old gaming system. For my 2nd water cooled build I'm extremely happy with the results and hope you enjoy the images. I have another system I was given (Asus Formula VII, 4690k) looking for a new home so I'm keeping my eyes open for another opportunity to build another system soon!!
The only thing I did above and beyond in this build was remove all the ugly stickers from the Silverstone PSU, sleeved some fan extensions, vandal switch, and EK Pump cables. I'm keeping the white LED Darkside lights because i'm sitll not sold on RGB craze right now. Next I'll upgrade the acrylic side panel with Tempered Glass to make it more inline with 2017 haha.
Thanks to Daz, Snef, Hans Peder Sahl, for all the help and support with this. Couldn't have done it with out them.
Cheers!!
