Updaaaaaaate!! Got the new Z axis all installed and working nicely!

Popped on some side panels to cut today! Came out awesome! I'm thrilled with the aesthetic they bring and cant wait to get the acrylic between the 2 pieces of aluminum! The top part is clear windowed acrylic, and the bottom portion will be translucent white acrylic!

They will also be painted black to match the case before I rivet it together!

using the tape and glue hold down method! 1mm 5052 aluminum sheet!

Looks great so far! Very ambitious. Good to see you learning from your mistakes.

Kinda thought the reflection from the tool light on the bottom floor panel in post #22 looked like a lightsaber!

Thanks guys! I did the bulk of the work last night on one complete side panel. Test fit, adjusted and then cleaned up the metal for painting! I've got 2 base coats and currently one cost of black, ran out of paint haha! So to the hardware store I go! I need rivets as well.

So here's an update of what I got up to last night!

Bottom acrylic for the panel done! Fan grille outline done a bit thicker than the aluminum so when its lit it really shines!

This next piece is my first attempt at double sided machining! After this side was done I flipped it and ran the edge on the other side sosot inlays with the aluminum nicely!

Acrylic inlaid to test fit before removing from the machine! Fit like a glove!

Both pieces test fit together! After a quick adjustment to the length of the bottom acrylic, just clamped some wood on it and sliced it by hand quick.

As promised the side panel!!! It came out pretty good!! I may end up adding a few rivets to the sides but for now I'm happy with it!!

                    Without further adieu...

My 100% custom side panel! 2 sheets of aluminum and 2 sheets of acrylic all sandwiched together for some fun aesthetic!!

I bunged up the fan holes by a half cm cause I forgot its 10.5 spacing not 10. So I'll have to fix that manually and make an adjustment for the other side but hey!! We are all human heh, mistakes happen and a half cm mistake is a pretty small one so I can live with it!

quick peek at what it looks like in place!

Got the remainder of the update on progress!! Passthrough plate is installed, everything is finally plumbed up and ready for a leak test! So that's on the menu for tonight! After this it's just the remaining custom bits to finish up and install, and then I'm ready to take some nice photos!

here's the completed passthrough plate before install!

Got one drain connected nicely! The other was a bit more tricky. So for now it's just plugged until I find a Male-Male spacer.

Snapshot of the full back side interior all connected up. The middle cutout with the custom bit I harvested from the titan xp will be a halo of red LEDs and will double as the hdd light in the dead center of the back! Cant see it with the cables in the way currently but I promise it's there haha.

That's all for today folks! Should have the leak test done tomorrow, then I can relax a bit on the final custom bits and take my time with them.
