  • GPU prices back to normal?

I just happened to be looking at gpu's and I noticed that for most cards prices have dropped drastically since Q1 this year. Vega 64 for $750, 1080ti for about 1k. These seem to be what the cards should be priced at, at least for the vega as the lower priced cards are actually a little lower than msrp. (which would be $780 given exchange rates)
Anyways this is what I have been predicting would happen this year, miners finally have their cards and mining is not profitable enough to warrant buying dozens and dozens of new cards. When the new gen cards for both AMD and nvidia come out we will probably see a similar lack of stock and price hike, but imo it should go back to normal much faster then last time. Also depending on the hash rates of the new cards they may not even be considered a big enough increase for miners to want to swap out their current gpu's.

now for the ram prices to come down...

Did not check prices lately, but I see that people start to buy waterblocks again, which means people get cards.

Bitcoin and most other Cryptos are at a 2-3 month low in value which means that GPU prices have dropped. Best grab them while you can because this won't last forever.

Is it worth getting a Vega64 now or wait for the price to drop? I would assume prices should drop as new cards come out though prices are already cheaper than when FuryX came out.

Nvidia's new GPU line up coming up in less than 2 months. Bad time for a GPU purchase.

Wait Ht, not worth buying just yet, new cards should be out soon from nvidia (maybe) . Don't think there has been any official announcement yet thhough.

I think they mean prices of all gpu's will drop when the new nvida cards come out. I've already seen vega 64's for 600 and 1080tis for 750 on local classifieds.

If you can find one for a good price go for it. AMD will more then likely delay Navi based GPU's because of memory prices and also the prices for team red cards won't really drop when Nvidia launches their cards. Maybe for second hand cards but as long as Vega cards are used for mining the prices should stay higher then green team GPU's.
