  • Redoing a white Sma8

Well going to be redoing a Sma8 for my sons system, it was snefs bloody angel build from back in the day.

His existing system minus the 100i I will be moving into this.

    Hardware:

    cpu 4790k devils canyon i7
msi 970 vid card on stock cooling (will stay this way)
    gigabyte z97 gaming gt mb
    16 gb DDR3 mem g.skill
    2 ssd's
    1 HDD storage drive
1k corsair rm ps white cables

    Cooling:

    16mm clear acrylic hard tube
    black bitspower fittings
ek water block in black pom (soon as I get it out of my system)
450 aquares and d5 vari pump/res in waterfall mode
    mayhems black fluid
white darkside quad rad (in transit)
fans still undecided have so many hate to buy more will probably cleans some older ones up will see...
Minus the fluid have everything already

Am looking for any suggestions on res placement in this SMA8 case?

This time am using an 450 aqualis res with a d5 mounting, guess could just drill the case and use the mounting bracket that come's on the pump top back or does anyone have another idea?

Thought about drilling the midplate to drop the d5 through idea also but kinda worried about vibration maybe though this pump is pretty quiet though.

the backplate has mounting holes u can see sort of in this pic, the whole thing is pretty heavy also plus fluid idea.

              Lookin' good! I am jelly.

Was that still some dip on the rear fan mount?

Sucks if you don't use enough dip as it breaks off like that. If you use the right amount it comes off in whole sheets.

The hexagon punch outs are real hard to get it out of.

                  shit. I'm totally lost.

                  Nass had a white SM8 ...
                  plastidipped her black...
then peeled it all off and back to white?

and this is THE SM8 from Snef's Bloody Angel build from 2014??

Bought it used from Prolab, he bought it from snef then made the entire inside of case black, frame and all plus he added some carbon fiber wrap to the mb tray.

Took me a couple of weekends to strip it all off, back to white again before I start rebuilding it for my sons system.

Thx EZ it came out not too bad, Daz's order has shipped and rad is in transit will take awhile for all the stuff to arrive.

Only thing with this build is kid dosn't want to give up his pc for long , so basically it has to come down then up.

So at the end will be kinda rushed, but will set it up for this.

I ran out of black plastidip, I only bought 6 (should've bought more). But hey, at least I didnt paint it

Looking good man! For some reason, the white looks better on your pics, compared to when I had it.

Is your res the one with the fountain effect?

                              Thx prolab

Where the plastic dip was tough to get was around the accessory holes on the frame and the fan mounts, either way she came off, changed out the bent door clips added some feet from my sm5 still had them new in the bag, she is like new again. Doors all close like normal now.

Ya the res has the fountain effect should look cool in black plus is the nano coated res.

Hey if your not using the silverstone usb for the front could really use that and need a power supply cover if u can find them?
