I personally own a Synology NAS (DS713+) and love it. Some models (like mine) can even be extended with another unit (DX513 for example)...

This is the one I'm using..... wd ex2 . Reasonably priced and works good. The nice thing is it turns drive off when they aren't in use so you don't burn em out.

I burnt out 3 portable hard drives that I had hooked up to my router efore I switched to this because they spun all the time.

          Thanks guys.

More updates James will have res rendering tomorrow and I've started on a mid plate water plate that will pretty much cover from the mother board to the radiators she have tube runs to where I need to go. Think I'm gonna use frosted acrylic not clear and illuminate it. Should tie the top res and case together nicely.

few updates been awhile have to post from pc not iphone with pics.

I got the midchasi support cut filed and painted and ready for distribution plate as well as front 360 radiator. the distribution plate and top resivoir are both rendered paid for and will be started on this week by jim at clockwerk industries. still waiting on pedestal from caselabs. note the tube placements arent final in pics just threw some tube i had lying around for some areas. also took ITdivas advice on overclock.net and lowered motherboard chasi support by 1/4 inch to match the mid chasi support and make the mounting surface for the midplate level

              here are some pics

I cannot WAIT to see those plates! Good move on taking advice from Darlene too. I find she can be a bit snobby at times, but the lady sure knows what she's doing.

messed around with lower compartment today. hard drives will all be mounted here. the rapture a6 cover fits rather nice in the space between radiator and HD cage so may use it for cable management.

also went and bought tayima acyrlic paint. wanted enamel but couldnt find any. Painted viewable pci empty slot as well as SATA ports and ram tabs. 95 percent happy with it. may do a 3-4 coat. up close you can see a few blems but from afar its good enough. hated the red on the motherboard wanted all black. for the most part the entire motherboard shows black now with parts installed.

Looks good to me, I was looking at pics without reading and i'm thinking 'wth has he even taken pictures of?'

Then I read and realize mobo is not all back from factory.

Pedestal is here love it had to customize my radiator side a6 mount so the radiator can fit but should work out.

ordered 2 alphacool nexxus 360x60mm thick rads and a bunch of fittings. and clockwerks should be finishing up the waterplate and resivoir by the end of next week. then the building will begin

                            updates.

pedestal plumbed and ready to go have my drain port out bottom and the plan is to have the 140 fan cover plate be attatched from bottom of the top case. with pass thru ports and a quick disconnect on top. that way i can disconnect them unscrew cover plate and pull top off.

the custom res and distribution plate are close to completion once i have them in hand the build will go quick.

oh and you can never have to many darkside black gentle typhoons. bought 6 more.

Jim at clockwerks is doing all the custom work. I assume from mcmastercar or comparible.
