The acrylic can be had @ RONA for about $15 per 24" x 18" x 3.0mm...used a good ole' fashioned BIC lighter to bend it, and some lighter fluid (squirted some onto a rag then rubbed like a madman to get the charcoal off). I know you can buy a heat gun for about $30 bucks; but compared to 98 cent lighter, you can't go wrong :p

A BIC lighter? The acrylic shelf looks flawless. I would have bet you used a heat gun! After I posted I started wondering if you had bought it that way. I'm going to apologize to you now because I may copy that design for my build!

I know it's been quite some time since I last updated my build (or uploaded pics for that matter); but recently ordered a few parts/ lights from Daz, and decided the rest of the members should be made aware of the video I'm about to show.

Video is of the replacement (200 mm x 60 mm) tube that was sent to me for the cracked one that i used with the Mayhems Aurora coolant; in the video, I'm showing that not all RMA replacements are flawless, as this one is definitely not completely round .

Although in the video it doesn't show the top end leaking; about 3 minutes later, it was leaking there as well.

This is just another reason to fit/ fill all your water cooling components outside of the case prior to installation, could have been a real nasty situation.

What a drag ! If you didn`t need to take it apart I would use some MEK acrylic solvent cement and make it permanently bonded.

I actually sent Daz links for 2 videos that I shot this morning; so that when he requests (yet) another RMA 200mm tube from EK, he's got some solid proof that the defect actually exists.

" Quality a problem with EK or are you on a run of bad luck? "

I'd have to say "No" to both; as we all know, parts (such as these) are mass produced by companies, so there is bound to be a rotten apple in one of the bunches. And, I don't think it would be economically feasible to check the "roundness" of each tube.

Fortunately; I still have the 400 mm tube (if things don't pan out with EK) to attach to my DCP 4.0 pump, but it'll be a tight fit (even in the Switch 810).

Newer upgrades/ updates will have to be put on hold until I hear back from Daz; if all goes well (and I can somehow build a small paint booth in my apartment ), I should be able to start painting the top and sides of the case in the next couple of weeks. Then install the (much needed) 90 degree fittings, cold cathodes, etc. in the case.

              B.
