  • EK Vardar 120mm Fans

Supposedly, these are the "replacement" for the loss of everyones favorite Gentle Typhoons.

Now available in the store, these 120mm fans come in four delicious flavors:

    77 CFM - 33 DBA - 2200 RPM

    63 CFM - 29 DBA - 1850 RPM

    52 CFM - 25 DBA - 1450 RPM

    40 CFM - 23 DBA - 1150 RPM

While we await the official verdict from our resident One-Eyed Fan Tester,
if anyone grabs some of these, please help us out with your own opinions!!

There's no way a 2200 RPM fans generates only 33 DBA as 33 DBA in my testing is almost inaudible, but each manufacturer tests them differently which is why I can never take the decibel measurements on product specs seriously.

That being said, get EK to send me some of them and I'll test them , unless they get sued by Scythe (Almost said Skype). Very nice addition to the store btw.

I did quick test on sat between GT 1850 and f3 1850. One inch from the fan they read 51 and 56db respectively.

That's more like it. 33 DBA my bum. The best noise to airflow will be the 1150 RPM version.

lol to noise testing... so subjective.

I'm just a little surprised they went to the extreme length to put out four "different" PWM fans,
when I could just buy the 2200 and tune it down...

I thought the exact same thing. I eagerly await extensive testing from one-eye (no not THAT one-eye!).

I bought a couple 2,200 RPM ones from El Dazmondo.

I found this, and it looks promising:

Note this is a pre-production sample, but I'm sure production will not vary much.
