I did some quick Heaven runs at 4K, before and after the fix, and didn't *see* much noticeable difference, but there's some.
Pertinent Heaven settings:
Quality: Ultra
Tessellation: Extreme
Anti-aliasing: x8
Full Screen
Resolution: 3840 x 2160
I did three runs before and after the fix.
PCIE 2.0:
Run #1: Min. FPS 15.3 / Max FPS: 60.7 / FPS: 32.8 / Score: 826
Run #2: Min. FPS 18.0 / Max FPS: 60.9 / FPS: 33.0 / Score: 830
Run #3: Min. FPS 18.6 / Max FPS: 60.9 / FPS: 32.8 / Score: 826
PCIE 3.0:
Run #1: Min. FPS 12.9 / Max FPS: 61.3 / FPS: 33.0 / Score: 830
Run #2: Min. FPS 18.1 / Max FPS: 61.5 / FPS: 33.0 / Score: 830
Run #3: Min. FPS 20.0 / Max FPS: 61.3 / FPS: 33.0 / Score: 831
I wouldn't want to read much into mild benching like this, with only 3 runs, but it looks like there was some improvement. Interesting. I'll leave the fix in place and see how stable the system is.
