  • Copper/Nickel GPU Blocks

OK, at the risk of being clunked on the head here as this topic has been discussed quite a bit, I still haven't really found an answer.
I've pretty much decided what I am going to put on my build except to go with copper or nickel.
One of the videos from DazMode says it's for looks only, but if that's true then why does EK make this block.

    EK-FC980 GTX - Acetal+Nickel.

The nickel can't be seen once it's mounted on the GPU so there must be more then just looks to go ahead and plate the copper with nickel.

Will there be that much oxidization to the copper to warrant the extra step of the nickel plating ?

Its for looks, even with that block you linked, it can be seen between the acetal and pcb like here:

And yes even that little bit of visible copper/nickel will matter to some people.
