  • Anyone ever buy anything from B&H photo in the USA (they sell computer stuff too)?

So, have you? They appear to have great prices, and are Canada friendly for shipping, duty, etc. Reason I ask is they have 1080 TI's for under $900CDN. Even with duty and taxes, they come in cheaper than Amazon or New Egg.

In my cart, I have a pair of 1080TI's (Asus Turbo editions):

    Subtotal: USD $1,359.98
    CAD $ 1,796.81

    Shipping: USD $12.40
    CAD $ 16.38

    Customs Clearance : USD $177.80
    CAD $ 234.91

    You Pay: USD $1,550.18
    CAD $ 2,048.10

That's a decent price for already overpriced Nvidia crap. I know people who've bought camera stuff from them, but never computer parts. But they've said nothing but good things. What do YOU folks say?

I bought from them a lot over years, but only for photo/video. Excellent service.

Did you do your own customs charges Daz? Or did you let them handle it?

I use theirs. They usually use purolator. Your only gamble is exchange rate.

Cool, thanks for the info Daz! But I may have been prematurely excited. The GPU I was looking at ended up being non-reference, and all the cheap reference design cards are either out of stock, or it's a limit of 1 per customer. There's always a catch, damn it!

Turbo has BP block and you can make two orders.

Hmm, you're reading my mind it seems! That Turbo was the cheap one in my cart. BP have a block for the TI model though? I saw the regular 1080 one in the store, but not a TI version.

BP doesn't even have Ti listed as a category. Their website is kinda awful. Oh well, the search continues. I figured out the "1 limit per customer" thing is due to the Destiny 2 game code promotion. I can probably opt out of that though. I have some very expensive decisions to make here, including GPU blocks! I was going to go Heatkiller, but their back plate selection doesn't exist (black or nothing). I might be stuck with EK again. Yuck!

I've heard good things from a few people now, so I think this place is trustworthy enough. Just gotta figure out what to buy now, which water block(s) to go with, etc. Thanks for the info gentlemen!

I have purchased around $10k in camera gear from them in the past 5-6 years, no problems what so ever.
