  • Watercooling Strix 1080 ti OC

Hi guys and thanks for your time.

I already have my own custom loop and my system is all setup. The only thing missing is the waterblock for the Strix 1080 ti oc. I was looking at EKWB and I spent a lot of time researching if you ca keep the original ASUS backplate. I have to say, that I love the AURA system and it also fit my Maximus motherboard.

Do you guys know if it's possible to install EKWB gpu block while still keeping the original backplate or if other brands, like bitpowers would allow that work?

    Thanks.

with EK , without minor modification to backplate , no

you need to drill all m2.5 of the backplate to a simple hole, this way you will be able to screw the block trough the original backplate

and with yes with Bitspower, it give yoiu the option to use original or if you change stand off and use bitspower backplate
plus the block itself have rgb led to connect to the GPU (aura controlable)

Man after you bigged up the TT 1080 ti blocks thought you would suggest that. and the block comes with the backplate free of charge. You wont have the RG your looking for but its still a slick looking back plate

Thanks for the quick answer. So would you recommend the BP block? Or is there a better performer?

Thanks for pointing that out to me. The EK works for both, the OC and basic. The only difference between the 2 is a thicker cooler, so I would expect the one from bitspower to work as well.

I will order on my next pay check.
