  • NEED A HELPING HAND! Complete Newbie-i7-4770k - Maximus VI Formula - Corsair 750D

    Hello guys,

I am Munajj and I recently decided to make a custom gaming rig for myself . This being my first build ever and moreover going for a custom watercooling loop, I think this will be pretty challenging for me. Hence I am actually looking for someone who can give me an hand with this build. I would really appreciate some help and anyone who is interested can PM me here or can email me at [email protected]. I will need help with just the watercooling part, the rest I will try to do by myself, with some help from you guys here in the forum.

I am planning on getting the Corsair Performance Cables for my PSU, but I have a feeling that will be an overkill for me. And for the fittings I really do need a lot of suggestions.

About my loop, I have some ideas about where I plan to put most of my components. But about routing my tubing, I am extremely confused about that and I really would appreciate suggestions from you guys.

I want to integrate the waterblock that comes with my Maximus VI Formula into my loop. I just plan to Watercool my CPU and MB.

So these are all the parts I will be using, I have already bought some of them.

    Main Components:

Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D Black ATX Full Tower Computer Case -

As you go with the kit it will come with complete illustrated instructions how to assemble it.

MB blcok just get inserted in the loop anywhere, although you would need to add adapter from 3/8 to 7/16 tube provided with the kit.

Hi Munajj. Welcome to the right place! Sure we can help.
Please update your profile to show us your location, then we can deploy the troops.

I can make a housecall for emergency consultations.

BTW. the M6F has G1/4 threads, so you can put any barb you want on it.

trouble is that ASUS have made this block using anodized aluminum, and there is a great debate about how this will react to mixing with Nickle CPU/GPU blocks.

I personally would just leave the Mosfets to air cooling. Unless you plan on running an insane high voltage overclock, these components do not require watercooling.

I actually think that anodized aluminum heatsink would probably be ok to use. It's using a very hard type of anodizing and should hold up. You may want to use mayhems x1 if you decide to use the built in waterblock.

hey Munajj, I am doing a similar build to yours and I did some research on the m6f and a lot of people have been saying to avoid using the water cooling option and stick to air cooling. otherwise you can swap it out, however you might be okay depending on the coolant you use and other water block material on the same loop. Again this is based on reading forums and various sites so take that with a grain of salt. good luck on your build!
