  • A decade out of the "loop", so to speak....advice appreciated...

    Greetings everyone.
Been a PC enthusiast for almost 20 years. First full-on build was around 2004. First watercooled build was based around an Athlon X2 5000+ Black Edition with an HD4870 in late 2008.
Last WC build was in 2011 or so with the ultra-rare Core2 Duo E8700 (attempting 5.0Ghz...got 4.8 stable). Retired that in 2013, been on air-cooled Intel Z87 / i5-4670K ever since. Think its time to build new and go back to AMD.

Current case is a TT Core X9, so i have lots of radiator space options. Going AM5...haven't decided if it'll be the 7900X3D or 7950X3D along with a 7900XTX. (Current graphics is a 5700XT) I was hoping AMD would do an RDNA3+ refresh later this year, but i heard that's been mothballed.
An RTX4090 is just not in the budget however.

Currently have 2 Alphacool UT60 420 rads.... I'm wondering if this would be enough? I still have space for even more rads, but don't want to spend unnecessary money.
    Thanks everyone.

Yes, double 420 is more than enough cooling. I'm running a 5950X and 4090 on a single 420.
