    Original Maximus build. That thing was damn hot with temps shooting to 86c. Incredible Radeon 4800 was just released.

    After this gaming rig I figured out that water was the only way to go.

          My old jet motor , this thing was just short of power for a takeoff with the antec big boy fan. loved that case back then and still do minus how loud it is. (looking at the pics makes me wonder if i could rebuild it with some water inside). only mod done was the fan in the OCZ PSU. changed the green fan to a blue one.

          this was a amd 4000+ with a 7800gt if i remember correctly.

                          Build from May 2008. Only thing that ever changed was the graphics cards and I redid the cable management (wish I took before pics. it was hideous. Worse than it looks in that picture.)

                          Thing cost me $3000+ back in the day. Wasn't cheap.

                          Thing sounded like a buzz saw. 8 Fans Total.

                          5x CM 120mm Blue LED Fans (3 Front, 1 Side, 1 Rear)
                          1x CM 200mm Blue LED Top Fan
                          1x Zalman 9700 Green LED CPU Fan
                          1x Modded 100mm Metal NB Fan.

                          Antec 900 Case (Horrible Case. No room for anything, don't know why it was considered a gaming enthusiast case)
                          EVGA 790i Ultra Mobo
                          Q6600 @3.4Ghz
                          8GB 2x4GB Mushkin Ascent 996625 DDR3 RAM
                          2x 160GB WD Velociraptor
                          2x 1TB WD Black

                          Graphics Card genealogy went as follows:

                          XFX Alpha Dog 8800GTX -> EVGA 9800GTX+ -> SLI EVGA 250GTS/EVGA 9800GTX+ -> EVGA 470GTX SC w/ GELID Rev. 2 ICY VISION.

                          It has lasted me up until earlier this year when I replaced it with my new WC build . I wish I made some better choices when I originally built it, but live and learn i guess
