  • Relikar's 900D Build

Sup ladies and gents, I've got everything now so I'm going to start off my build log

    First up, Parts list.

MSI Big Bang Xpower II (PS. Daz, any chance you could get me a MB block on the next XSPC order? )
    Intel i7 3930k
    32Gb G.Skill 1600 Ram (4GBx8)
    EVGA NEX1500 PSU
    2x EVGA GTX 680 SC+
    2x OCZ Vertex 4 60GB SSDs
2x WD Caviar Black 1TB HDDs

    Watercooling Gear:

    Bitspower Summit CPU Block
2x XSPC Razor GTX 680 Blocks
2x Bitspower D5 Top + Reservoir Upgrade kit
    2x Darkside D5 Strong Pumps
XSPC 360mm Multi-Port Slim Triple Rad (See Pictures)
EK 480mm RAD XT Quad Rad
    Assortment of Bitspower Fittings
    Clear Tubing
    Ice Dragon Coolant

This build will be complete within roughly a week I hope, because I don't want to be down too long and have plenty of free time to get everything done. But, I've run into my first set of problems already. I think I'll have to send the 360mm Rad back to Daz and switch it out for a new one The multi-port design doesn't work well unless I were to do push/pull. The second problem is the need to add a floor to bolt my pumps too. I'm thinking about just adding a metal plate into the bottom of the case, but that would take time to get cut/fit/welded into position. (and I really don't want to held, so I'll gladly take suggestions)

Big beautiful case and sweet list of parts

Why cant you put the fans to mount in the base then the plugs will fit use ports u need?

The big quad rad goes in the top?

Going to be a kickass build

That's one of the options, and probably the one I'm going to use since I lost one of the rad screws and I doubt Daz will let me return it now. Kinda defeats the purpose of LED fans if they're ontop though

Also, Anybody got any idea where I can find a 120mm Steel insert that I can screw into the 4th Fan slot ontop? Thinking that'd be a good place to mount my fill ports. I doubt there's anything ready made though so I'll have to put something together myself I think.

And no, The quad is going in the bottom for the GPUs, if I were to put the quad in the top, it blocks the 5.25 drive bays.

Ps. All my pictures are going to be pretty garbage since I'm using my crappy cell phone camera.

Apparently Corsair has thought of everything with this case, The bottom of the fan cage comes off to allow the 480 Rad to fit nicely.

Edit: The problem was that the 480 was up against the fan cage and the holes weren't lining up to mount it.

Looking good man! In Tom Logans review of the 900D, every time he thought he had discovered a short-coming, he realized later that Corsair thought of it and there was a way around it.

Decided to get a Bitspower X-Station to plug all the fans into, But I'm not 100% sure how to connect it. Does the power come from the 4 Pin Molex connectors, or the Mini Molex, or Both?

powers up with a regular 4 pin molex

                        then fans to station

Does each molex tie in to a section of 3 Pins, or will one molex power the whole board?

Alright good to know. I had to place a second order right after the first because I put my reservoirs in and realized I had about 2 inches of clearance before the rad.. Totally need a 90 for each of those >.<

Edit: I just realized I need more plugs.. Damn XSPC Blocks with their 7 Different ports.

Edit2: Or not, Blocks came with a ton of plugs, hurray.
