Can anyone tell me which interconnect I should get for adding in my second GPU (another 7950)? I plan to install them in the top two x16 slots so there will be a gap of one slot inbetween them. I think a serial interconnect is the one I want.
I've been looking through the store but don't want to get something that won't fit or work.
Thanks in advance

The first PCI Express x16 slot (PCIE_X16_1) always runs at x16 speed; the second PCI Express x16 slot (PCIE_X8/X1_2) always runs at x8 speed; the third PCI Express x16 slot (PCIE_X16/X8_3) runs at x16 speed when the second PCI Express x16 slot is empty or at x8 speed when this other slot is used; and the fourth PCI Express x16 slot (PCIE_X4_4) always runs at x4 speed. This way, in order to achieve the best performance if you are installing two video cards, you should install them in the first and third slots, not in the first and second slots as it would appear more logical
So having my card in that slot should have no effect on performance

Red & Black Frac (WIP)
Hello everyone, just wanted to share my first watercooled build. I'm far from new to IT world but have never dabbled into the watercooling before this.
This build is not really new or the most powerful, but its more than enough for me.
I don't pictures of every step of the way unfortunately but I plan to continually make changes to this machine and will keep this log updated with pictures as I go.
System specs:
Case - Fractal Design Define R4
Motherboard - Asus Crosshair V Formula
CPU - AMD FX8350
RAM - 32GB DDR3 1600Mhz
GPU - AMD 7950 (Have another I plan to eventually add into this build as well)
HDD - 2x Kingston 64GB SSD (RAID 0)
PSU - Corsair TX850 PSU
Cooling setup:
- DarkSide - Complete DUAL Radiator - D5 Vario Pump - Flex Kit
- 240mm Darkside Performance Radiator
- EK 7950 waterblock and backplate
- Corsair SP120 fans x4 (soon to be x6)
Planned changes:
- Finish sleeving all cables in red
- Squeeze in an additional slim 120mm Radiator beside PSU (if it does cramp up the case too much)
- Change case light to red LED and link Power/HDD LED signals
- Install additional 7950 GPU into loop
- Setup white LED's inside the case
- Full case side window
- Replace black fan on back of case with AF140 (match the rest of the fans)
- Cut out space on PSU cover for two temp sensors (CPU & GPU)
- Cut out front grill fans (behind pull fans on front radiator) to allow for less obstructed airflow.
I know the picture quality isnt the greatest but my celll phone camera is the only one I've got
This is the first pic I have of this build
This second pic has the following mods done:
- Changed PSU to smaller TX850 I had from another system and installed covers over it and the drivebays
- Front rad was installed higher to see if a 120mm rad would fit in the bottom near the PSU
- Sleeved a few cables (few more to go)
I welcome any suggestions or constructive criticismTags: None
