Since I have some down time in buying parts thought id clean my radiators. Bought distilled water and distilled white viniger. This should suffice boil a bit warm up and fill radiators and let sit? Then pour out? What ratio and How long?

Better to circulate than let sit.
No mor e than 30 min I would say.
I just shake the hell out of rad when dry.
Then run hot tap water straight through for a min.
Then flush with distilled. I flush the rad in both directions. Switching ports for in and out.Blue Dragon CM690 II an i7 - 960 x58 build

If the radiators are new, you don't have to do the vinegar run.
If you really want to do it, don't forget that you will have to run a shot of distilled water with some bicarbonate of soda to neutralize the acid level left by the vinegar run.
I don't know which series of EK rads you have but just to give you an idea, all my PE series EK rads have only been initially flushed with hot tap water at first and distilled after. Even after the first run with tap water there was barely no junk in them.
Just my .02 cents here

i ended up hooking up my hose to them turning it on a 1/4 turn letting them flush.... then filled up a bottle with 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water filling them up shaking them letting them sit for 30 mins. dumping it out. then pouring about a liter of distilled water in them and letting them drain. quit a bit of bits came out. do i need to do anymore other than let them dry out?

since you put vinegar in it you have to do a run of distilled with bicarb to neutralize

Basically bicarbonate is a baking soda and cold water mix.
I don't think much Baking soda would be required.
My guess would be around 1 teaspoon dissolved in to a 4 liter jug.Last edited by Hooded; 10-09-2014, 09:35 PM.Blue Dragon CM690 II an i7 - 960 x58 build
