  • New Darkside D5 Tops

I see Daz has added a new line of Darkside D5 Tops to the store.
I'm wondering what size thread is on the top. Will it allow directly fitting any tube reservoirs that are in the shop? 50mm or 60mm diameter tubes?
If so that will make a very clean connection.
If not are you planning on getting some tube reservoirs that will fit them?

Those look great for people who are doing an SFF build, but still want a man's pump. Nice work Daz! I see Heatkiller is expanding their lineup too, very nice!

Looks like you need a minimum 1/8" shim/spacer behind the mount to allow clearance for the D5 nut. A piece of plexi or something similar with a couple holes drilled for the mounting screws. You may also need longer screws to mount with.
This looks like a design issue that Daz should address imho.

Did not realized this part of design.

                This will resolve it: https://www.dazmode.com/store/produc...-4-decouplers/

I probably need raise price and include this part by default.

Thank you for the reply. I'll test the top with some distilled water later today and email you after.

Personal take on your fix. I don't think those rubbers mounts will work well with a vertically mounted pump. They will sag from weight of pump and top. They won't be strong enough to hold a reservoir attached to the top ether.
A simple spacer/shim with longer bolts would be a much better fix imho. Spacer could be designed to go between pump and bracket or bracket and case. Cost for spacer and bolts would be much cheaper than the rubber mount kit. I would possibly add a small piece of rubber, to eliminate vibrations resonating to case.
If you run another batch, have the bracket enlarged to eliminate spacer requirement.

Yes, you right, there is a flex with anti-vibration mounts. I will think about hard spacer option instead.

Yeah, I have the same top and cannot mount it like it supposed to be so its sitting vertically with 3m on the bottom but the vibration is just horrible

Most likely you have air bubble in pump, so impeller cannot rotate smoothly.
