  • Aqua Computer Modded D5

    Hey all,

    Couple of quick questions.

Is the Aqua Computer Modded D5 a good match for the EKWB EK-XTOP?

I really want to use the Modded D5 motor with the Aqua Computer and need a small pump head. I only have 8" of height to work with.

Also, anyone know what would the flow rate be on this combo if viable?

Is there a determining factor on when you should switch to 2 pumps? I am looking at building a rather large horizontal system.

    Thanks for your time.

Yes the modded D5 pump will fit the EK-XTop

The max flow rate will depend on power source 12 or 24 volt
After trying to pump the coolant higher than 15' you will absolutely require a second pump in a series setup, in order to have a good flow.

Only other reasons for a second pump would be
    - you have a very restrictive loop
    - you want redundancy in your loop should one pump fail, the other keeps the fluid moving
    - you have a have a want for two pumps for looks

In general you will only need one pump.
