Hey can anyone confirm installing the newer FC EK Block (model 1960 / 1984..for 1080Ti ) on an Evga 1080Ti SC Black Edition ???? Although ALL reference states compatible there is NO anchoring / threaded stud at the top of the Card next to the input / output water ports....this stud is present on Pascal X Block BUT not on 1080Ti Reference Blocks....yet the Compatibility list shows the SC Black Edition as Compatible Reference...
Has anyone tried this particular Card with the 1960 / 1984 Blocks and if there were any issues not having this last screw securing the block ?? It looks as though it ensures the PCB makes contact with the RAM chips.
Please let me know.....EK....you may want to remove the 6393 KR model from your compatibility list for the 1960 / 1984 Model Block (newer Terminal look).
Please advise if this has been tried without the one screw in place?
Here are links to the EK Site which shows images of the Blocks:
These are the Block that I have: 3831109831960
Both claim to be for 1080Ti Reference and Pascal X, have a close look at the Waterblock (underside) and note NO threaded mounting stud under the left side H2O Port ....

Then look at these "older" Water Blocks (no new look Terminal Block cover)
ALSO for Reference 1080Ti AND for Pascal X Model 3831109831694

Have a close look at the underside of these GPU Blocks and note that there IS a threaded mounting stud at the top directly under the left side H2O input/output port.
How can one block have the stud and the other not if there both for the same Card?
Anyhow....I have the Cards put together with the blocks but obviously both Cards are missing the one securing screw ....bummer...I have ordered another set of Blocks as I know the Water Cooling parts game...no one take responsibility for ensuring compatibility....
Im just reluctant to put in my box...fill with liquid as risk over heating my VRAM...any suggestions ....this is an odd one....Im always "positive" i get the right gear!
