  • First water build in a HAF932

    Hey folks,

I'd just like to say hi to all of you before starting, and I'd like to thank you for having me in your forums!

I'm pursuing a water project to cool my absurdly loud 7950's in crossfire, but also to learn the intricacies of block design etc. (as a side project I'd like to start building new water-blocks for mass market)

I've got a parts-list of items here and I'd appreciate any comments/suggestions on the products as I'm reluctant to buy anything without getting a second opinion.

    Blocks:
    CPU Block: EK supremacy copper/plexi

Radiator: Swiftech MCR320-XP "EXTREME PERFORMANCE" Radiator Series - Triple 120MM

    Koolance Quick Disconnect QD4 Extreme Flow Quick Disconnect No-Spill Coupling, Female Compression for 13mm x 19mm (1/2in x 3/4in)

    Koolance Quick Disconnect QD4 Extreme Flow Quick Disconnect No-Spill Coupling, Male Compression for 13mm x 19mm (1/2in x 3/4in)

I'm curious what you guys think of the mix of metals, as well as the tubing. I've taken a look around and done some research on various blocks etc, but I feel like the Ek copper blocks have the best compromise for performance as well as looks.

Koolance is XSPC res/pump combos are quite on opposite sides of spectrum. Koolance is solid DDC based, but expensive item, XSPC is cheap but prone to failures from past experience.
    Performance wise they are similar.

      Thanks for the reply!
Yeah Koolance is a bit on the pricey side, but I read they're pretty good with reliability. If the XSPC pump/res combo isn't recommended, I might just get another standalone Laing pump. Any idea if the Koolance unit exhibits any rattling or pump vibration noise?
