Thanks for the quick response Hooded, I have a technical issue with my new setup and trying to find a resolution.
I have the MSI GeForce RTX 2080 SEA HAWK X and would like to extend the tubing due to restrictions I have. My thoughts are to simply remove the existing cheap tubing and replace with hard tubing.
If you can unscrew the fittings that are in the water block and rad then you can do it, providing the thread is G1/4 for the ports.
Otherwise, you can only replace with a soft tube that fits the water blocks existing barb.
For a barb, you need a soft tube that will fit tightly on the barb fitting. So the inside diameter of the tube should be about 1mm smaller than your barb.
It is an option provided I figure the right adapter.
But in all seriousness, the only way to resolve all my issues is to try and schedule a consultation session with DazMode and get all my hardware ordered one shot deal.
Would the EK-Vector RTX 2080 RGB Nickel + Plexi fit on the MSI Seahawk 2080 replacing the stock water cooling system?
GeForce RTX 2080 AERO compared to GeForce RTX 2080 Sea Hawk are identical in design and dimensions. Phanteks RTX 2080 FOUNDERS EDITION GPU BLOCK is compatible with AERO, so I might have a chance.
Also, I noticed that MSI released the GeForce RTX 2080 SEA HAWK EK X
Technical question:
When sliding the PETG hard tubing in to the compression fitting, is it OK to use any type of lubricant like soap to reduce the friction on the inner sealing O ring?
Water cooling is not as simple as it looks... I am averaging an hour per section on the hard tubing connections. By the time I am done, I will be twice as old and trice as grumpier.
