  • ImDisk Free Ram Drive

Hey guys, was surfing around the OCN forums today and found a link to this little program.
This is 100% free and works with all versions of windows. Some benefits if your running a 64 bit version of windows, like unlimited RAM Drive size.

A Ram drive is really very useful if your doing work with a large video or graphic file. Many programs will let you setup a working/scratch/temp drive/folder to store files while your working on them. If you point those to your Ram Drive you will be able to move around a large graphic or back and forth in a video at un-real speed.

I have 24gb of ram in most of my comps so now when I fire up Adobe Photo Shop or another large graphic/video app I placethe files I'm working on in a 8gb ram drive and I also point to that drive for all temp, scratch and working folders.

Actually folks I think I'm having a drive about to fail on me. Causing extremly long boot time.

Yeah. Currently running a Image restore then I'll have to run my Back-ups Restore to get it back to the 25 of Nov.

If that don't fix the long boot then it's definataly the drive.

          Oh what fun computers are

Well after re-storing the disk image the machine boots fine again.

So either iTunes 11 or the ImDisk programs done something to mess up the boot.

            I'm guessing it was ImDisk
It's good to have a LAn of puters to play on haha.

It has a freeware version with a max size of 4GB which is enough to find out if you like it or not and if it will cause the same issues your having with your current one.
