Check out my post, #58 Snef. That one is exactly what you want. Just bought it today. http://www.dazmode.com/_forum/showth...ll=1#post11211 It's a 7970 PCB, according to EKs configurator anyway. I'll let you know for sure when the HeatKiller block I just ordered from Daz arrives.

Yes, EK configuration chart says that the 7970 GTDFC model is a reference board and is on their list of supported cards with a standard 7970 block.

What's with the reviews saying this PCB tends to bust a flame?

Have any of you had this happened?

I've only had bad experience with 6950 from XFX.
two in a row decided to just explode and puff some smoke in my rig.

First I thought it's because I went with a cheap PSU.
So I got a higher end one.
And I did not try to flash the bios in case you were wondering... LOL

I'm not bawlsie enough to do such things. After two separate RMA's they gave me a refurbished card back (while I paid full price..)
The kicker is about a year after I had been using it steadily , I noticed the bios switch on the side and 'flicked it' to bios 2.

It was running a bit smoother but I didn't make anything of it.
When I purchased the koolance waterblock for it I opened up GPU-Z and noticed the amount of shader was more than I should have from a 6950.
Sure enough , bios 2 was 'unlocked' to a 6970. I didn't do this myself and promptly contacted XFX.

Free 6970! ...well kind of. haha.

Yes a lot of cards have dual bios, they just don't tell you usually. Switch that turned it into a 7990 would be even nicer !

I wasn't referring to the dual bios switch.
From what people have been saying of the XFX branded 7970 seems to spontaneously stop working.

In any event I would dip that sucker in water either way.

Yea they had a 100 in stock. Sale went on at 12am EST.
They posted the Shell shocker to fb and by that time only had 5-10 left.
                                Then people started complaining hehe.

If you don't mind giving it a try if you still want in on that deal try price matching with NCIX.

And heres a link to shopbot to compare Canadian retailers real quick that carry this SSD.
