  • First WC build (no cool name yet)

Hi all, I've started my first custom build and I'm very excited to see it slowly coming together.
I'm a big fan of Daz's YouTube channel and watched all his tutorials to learn as much as I can about it.
Lately I've been reading up on this great forum for more ideas to have it come together as best I can while I wait for a few more parts on order.
Sorry I'm unable to submit my rig's profile nor my own as the console is all N/A (maybe I need 4 or 6 posts first) so I'll start here.

    Phanteks luxe black
    Asus P8P67 pro v3 i5 [email protected]
    Seasonic 850w m12d silver cert.
    Sapphire Tri-x r9 290x
    8gb ripjaws
    Samsung 850 pro 256Gb
    Seagate 3Tb
    Qnix 2710 1440p

Darkside flex kit 360 lp D5 vario pump/res combo EK special edition Canadian flag CPU block
Clear tube, more fittings and various adapters than I'll probably need but just in case.
    Alphacool SP240
    Scythe Glidestream black (x3) pwm
EK acetal/nickel Gpu block and black backplate

I've taken a bunch of pics to start a work log and will put them up when I get enough posts in.

I don't have a theme or name yet but I'm liking the Idea of white and orange for colors eventually but might have to stick with what I have for now as mobo is predominantly blue.

Rad setup and flow can be changed but this is how I'm setting it up: 240 in the front with 2 fans pushing air in though, same with the 360 from the top. Hard drive cages removed and a 120 or 140 mounted on the framework below the 5.25 to help move the air through to the rear exhaust 140. Hopefully the rear exhaust can move all that!
Anyway, any tips, ideas and suggestions will be appreciated!
    Cheers!

Ok thanks I'll try now. OK maybe it's not possible to do this from my phone or I'm missing something but I can't figure out how to add pics yet. No options available as far as I can see.
I'll try from my desktop when I get home from work.

This is fantastic way of introduction. Very nice and clever!

Triple radiator can easily take the job, but if you want to use additional dual radiator you can have same temps with slower fans.

Dice, Nice list of parts, got to love the Phanteks cases.

6 posts is the magic number for clearing automatic moderation.
However I think your problem goes beyond that with your iPhone only showing n/a.
You may wish to try a different editor.

To do that you need to check your Profile Settings (top right corner of page),
then on from the menu on the right select General Settings.
On the page that opens scroll to Miscellaneous Options at bottom nearly.
Try one of the different editors. Basic usually always works.

Each editor has an insert image icon to use for image posting.
Or you can use a 3ed party site to host your images and post them using the BB Code

Thanks for your kind replies guys!
Daz I was hoping this setup would be sufficient with the 2 rads I already have (240 and 360) and no more room inside the case unless I go bigger on top.
Hooded, thanks for the tips with the editor, I'll try again. Also read the help sticky on uploading my worklog pics with photo bucket but I get issues with invalid url.
It will happen soon, promise! Lol!

              Here's a few for starters!

Finally! Sorry for the wait but I'm at my desktop now and with 6 posts in I'm able to post and edit my profile.
EK backplate and some more fittings came in but still waiting on the gpu block and more fittings from Daz so it's a slow build...

Not a drop leaked out yay!

So as you can see from the pics I have changed the reservoir from the one that came with the Dazmode kit (looks like an xspc res) to an EK 140mm tube res which had it's challenges as well.
The res was about 4mm too wide to fit on the hdd cage plate cover which would have been the ideal place to mount it but sadly it was a no-go since my r9 290x with the waterblock and backplate is just too long.
So I tried raising it above which would have worked but the upper rad is in the way for filling and it just didn't look right there and after an hour of head-scratching and frustration I figured out a way that actually worked out great!

I used the res mounting plate alright but with a twist..literally, 90 degree flip and used the existing 4 out of 6 threaded holes to mount it to the bay cover plate just above the Phanteks logo and to my surprise it looks great and the hdd cage fits perfectly.
That right there was the mod that made the day for me so I was then able to route the tubing and do the leak test.
Filled the loop with just over a liter of distilled water and Daz Protect and I have to say i was a bit nervous about pressing the power switch but it all worked out great and added 20 drops of green liquid food coloring just because.
I have a liter of EK uv lime green coolant on standby I might try after a while and of course I'll need to install my uv light for that also but for now I have the Phanteks led strip wrapped around which works pretty well...maybe too well.

Cable management with a semi-modular psu, cable extensions, fan controller (temp probes not used yet), 2 hdd, dvdrw, and 2 ssd is no easy feat with this case and I know it could be better but for now it is what it is and the panel closes with minimal resistance:

Thanks bungwirez, yea the backside can be improved for sure and I'll work on it this weekend.
I'm going to change a few things in the wiring and leave it at that for now.
Next plans will be hard line tubing, fully modular PSU, sleeving and a new platform/CPU and ram.
Until then I'm going to enjoy just using it.
