  • [Build Log] -------- "MONOCHROME" --------

Welcome to my next build! This one has been kind of on the backburner for quite some time, as I've been waiting on the case. This will be a very clean promotional build for a new case from a new case manufacturer, of which I still can't disclose... yet, hence the "censored" area of the sponsor line up above.

I have the case in my possession and will show it as soon as I'm allowed (very soon) via photos and a video overview. The case itself is very clean, well made, and just oozes quality. I look forward to showing it off and doing this build with it.

Leading up to my ability to show the case I will of course, in my typical fashion, be photo-logging all of the other parts to be used in the build. This thing will be a powerhouse!

That copper tubing has peaked my interest now.

looks like it should be an interesting build, guy at the lan last year had a chromed up copper tubing build there, looked sweet. He didn't have frys though...

                        Hello James.
This will be of great interest as I was and possibly still may do my build out of copper tubing, but the GTX 980 didn't get hot enough to warrant the build.
However running SVP the processor does get a little warmer then I want, but I didn't want to install a big ugly air cooler.

I was planning to with these from Koolance.

                        http://koolance.com/index.php?route=...ry&path=62_107

I was never a big fan of O-rings _ I've used compression type fittings for years (auto stuff) in other projects and feel comfortable with them, plus once the brass ferrule is in place and compressed, the tubing is very easy to remove for cleaning _ just my two cents.

The ferrule in the Koolance fitting is meant for 13mm and I would be replacing that with a 1/2 inch ferrule _ the 13 mm ferrule would probably work on the 1/2 inch tubing, but one would have to do allot of tightening to bear down on the ferrule making it fit onto the too-small-tubing.

A question: will you be doing the bends on your tubing then have it nickel plated, in that order ?
                        Or the reverse ?

I know one can buy pre-plated copper tubing from a plumping store, but I have bent this and the plating has a tendency to crack.

For the cost of those Titan Z's you should at least get "some fries with that". Love those nutty pics.
