  • AMD rebuild: Frank(enstein)

    This was my main PC for a few years, and its spent over a year in it's current setup and I wanted to move on to hard tube! I would use acrylic, but I'm going to deal with PETG one last time since I had leftovers from my last build. Here is what it looked like before:

    Here is now:

    Half done with the carbon fiber vinyl on the backplates.

    I wanted to upgrade to intel, but I can't afford it right now. Trying to make it to Zen.

    PSU cover I had milled way back when I did my Air 00 stuff.

    It may be hard to see but this is a dark metallic graphite colour. The rads look really good, just waiting to dry for clearcoat.

    Some EK ram blocks in order to watercool the ram this time.

      I'm in a similar situation myself about the amd vs intel / rebuild vs build dilemma, will wind up rebuilding my bluehawk build. The vinyl looks great! Looking forward to more pron.

            More pics of the EK ram blocks because they look so good.

            I made this acrylic plate and velcro-ed it to the case. I also had to cut between the original holes to make these ones fit where I wanted them, so the 24pin is horizontal and not an angle.

                  Thanks guys! This one is coming together quite quickly, as I've been informed I have to clean out my workshop... I mean the dining room for christmas by the 14th, lol. Started on the tubes today;

                  I decided to paint the top fans in the same colour as the rads,

                  Figuring out the tubing runs and what fittings to use. I have so many black fittings now and I'm gonna have some extras left over even.

                  Do you guys like my flow meter? I'm not sure I want to put it in or not yet, so any opinions are welcome.

                  Did a few runs this morning.

                        Thanks guys. Anyways flow indicator didn't work. I guess I don't have enough flow with a single DDC and all the other parts, or too much turbulence in that spot maybe. So I only had one piece of tube long enough to replace that run, so I was pretty lucky.

                        I tilt the case otherwise you can't fill the res because the surface tention of the water gets it stuck in the fill port.

                        I flushed a few times already but maybe one or 2 more to get all the pastel out of the waterblocks I think.
