The Dreadnaught - A Dark Themed Build by OneFastStagea
Looking good.
Is that bottom tube from GPU to pump/res PETG? Doesn't looks as clear as the rest.
Thanks Hooded. No I recycled that bottom tube, or at least part of it from my last build (different case/components) so it's slightly stained from the dye in the pastel coolant. I just rinsed it out, but if I were to take a rag or paper towel and push it through it would all come off with water. I've just been lazy lol. You won't see it once the new fluid is in the system anyways so I saw no reason to do it.
Damn, I FINALLY remembered to check this thread from home, since I can't see pics from work. EXCELLENT work on those bends man!
Thank you very much sir! Took less time than I was expecting thankfully, although I think I will end up redoing the one on the left side going from the 2nd rad to the GPU... it has a bit of a kink on the bottom bend. It bothers my OCD
Tackled a few things tonight, mostly wiring (which is proving more tedious than anything else I've had to do thus far). 6 fan controllers, 6 drives, a water pump and power to all components, all crammed into the back of the View 71 while still trying to keep it looking tidy is quite the feat...
Finally remembered to mount the second set of 140mm Riing fans for the front rad's push/pull configuration:
Tucked the pump wires out of sight and wrapped them with electrical tape to make them less noticeable (I ran out of black sleeving ). I ended up taking the pins out of the connectors to be able to fish them through the pump mount area at the back for a cleaner look:
How the front looks now, with the PSU mounted and all components connected (still waiting on one set of fans for the top rad to arrive though):
Started working on the wiring on the backside. Slowly progressing, keeping in mind the fact that I may need to redo some stuff once I install the final set of fans:
And that's where I leave off tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it all of tomorrow night and get the loop leak tested/cleaned, then filled with pastel on Saturday.
Yea, I was quite happy the way it turned out. I'm still on the fence on the fluid now though. Originally I was going to keep it pink as well, but now seeing the Primochill Vue colours I kinda wanna try one of those out instead...
oh ya I spent more time on the back of my view 71 project than on the front lol. Im now working on the View 91 which is a w100 with TG side panels.
That's the way it usually is I think hahah. Man, I'm so mad that the View 91 wasn't out when I was looking to buy a case. I totally would've gotten that one instead Oh well, the 71 is a beautiful case too, just not as much room.
Off-topic: does anyone know if EK sells just their reservoir tubes? I wanted to get one that's a bit taller to fill out that space above a bit better, but would prefer not to have to buy a whole new res/pump combo to do so...
Totally agree with everyone, mighty fine build OneFastStagea. What is that little card you have plugged in to the top slot?
That would be an ASUS WiFi+Bluetooth card as the Gaming K7 doesn't come with built-in WiFi/Bluetooth capabilities. That reminds me, I need to paint that bracket black to match... lol.
More pictures will be incoming today once I have some spare time. The PC is up and running now and I was benchmarking all last night. Looks like I got lucky with my RAM/CPU, I'm running 3600MHz with 16/16/16/36 timings on the RAM, and am up to 3.8GHz across all cores stable at 1.21V on the 1700X so far (still have more to go)
