Was at my machinist`s on Sunday starting on machining water block and removing center of IHS for a direct die installation. Donor Cpu is an I7 3770K with 22nm die structure. Here`s some pics of the basic procedure, setup and mounting is the most time consuming part of the procedure. this is the beginning of a quest to attain constant temps in the minus 15-30 range. Pics for the masses. WARNING > do not even think about doing this unless you are prepared to destroy a processor if a slip of the wrist happens !!! Pics >>>

Thanx TIM will be a custom mix of 4 nm Graphene powder and a sub-zero carrier for it. Graphene is crazy expensive 4 grams cost me just under 600 bucks, I hope it is worth it. Block will be triple plated in pure silver not Sterling, metal paste on cpu die is not a good idea seeing that it is a good conductor of electricity. Warranty ha ! Bought 3770 in April when it first came out, IHS was removed that night. Die has run Braless since.

You can buy the Graphene at a few labs in North America, found one through one of my engineering subscriptions. Will be making the TIM myself after I get a fairly high-powered microscope, have picked up several ceramic and diamond compounds to try and see which one allows the best spread pattern. They are the best for sub-zero temps. More later as I have a massive amount of parts to accumulate and get shipped, not much in Canada for TEC`s, controllers, custom power supplies and the rest of junk needed. Cheers and see some of you guys at the OCN Lan that I hope will happen in June.

Picked up a few items at the post office this week. Mean Well SP 480-12 volt adjustable PS-two of the controllers for Tec`s-and two of the dual blocks. >>Two more blocks, 4 more Tec`s, 2 more controllers and an 800 power digital microscope are on their way.
