    So I got me a new toy, trying to find best settings for taking pic's of my Rig
    Here is a few test shots. Feedback / tips is well come.

      pics are a bit noisy try lowering iso to the lowest number possible

      use a tripod with 2-10 second timer delay

      try manual mode with live view then rotate dial till you have the right brightness on the live view screen

      also manual focus will give you better results

          Thanks for the info
          I just picked up a Prime lens that can do manual focus, will test it out tonight
          Seems like i'll need a tripod, sooner than later darn it.
          What shutter speed should i be starting at. The ISO on the above pics was pretty high, you have some good eyes man.

            You need a slow shutter speed. The slower (longer it's open) will allow in more light. Just experiment with it. Start out around a second, and keep going with a longer release until you get the results you want. Personally, I'm not a fan of the delay timers...look for a shutter release cable for your camera. Not sure on the official part from Nikon (probably $50-$75), but you can likely find a knock-off on ebay for next to nothing. Allows you to get the same benefits of the timer in a much nicer (and quicker fashion).

                  if you follow all that FF said you will have Much better pics, i have used a shutter of about 10sec on my orange GT pictures. you can make a dark room seam lit with long exposures.
