  • Spirillum's Build

    Hello Dazmode Community,

My first water cooled build! It's leak tested without a hitch and I'll have my SSD/HDDs transferred over from my current build on Friday to complete the system.

What really sold me on water cooling was the 'hobby' aspect of it, and the aesthetics were important to me. I'm sure that will reflect in my build. I certainly didn't need the radiators that I have but there's something to be said for popping the dust filter on the top of the case and seeing those quad fans silently keeping everything in check.

Hopefully you like it as much as I do.

Your wish is my command. I apologize for the photo quality. All I have at my disposal is an iPhone camera.

This is a nice looking machine.
I have the same case. Going to move my Blue Dragon build into it.
Suggest you read the post on how to post images to the forum.

                          aboard

Super build you made great choices

Think I'm getting a crush on that case

Any issues with the case you wished was different?

Any issues with the case you wished was different?

My biggest issue would be that there is one main avenue for cabling that I wanted to use (behind the reservoir bracket) and the case came with a lot of cables preinstalled there. Routing my motherboard cables, molex cables for fan hub, and power supply cables through that area of the case got very crowded very quickly.

Not a huge concern and I was able to work around it fairly easily, but there were far more cables preinstalled with this case than I've personally seen on any of my other builds.

There's a lot to like about this case.

For longer graphics cards or multi-GPU setups you might have issues with the reservoir bracket as well. My GTX 780 Ti fit without any issues, but it's not the longest GPU out there. Even if you aren't planning on mounting your res on the bracket, it does a great job of hiding cables and you'd be missing out on that.

                            Other observations (not gripes):
                            - With a 480mm radiator mounted in the top you can't use the top optical 5.25" bay.
                            - The radiator screws that come with the case aren't the M3 threading that my radiators required. If you're running a push/pull like I did you'll need to order extra screws or find a hardware store that sells them in your area. I couldn't find one in Calgary and had to drive out to a Home Hardware in the sticks.
                            - I'm not sure if you can tell from my pictures but there is room for push/pull up top. The clearance is there, even though quite a bit of what I read online said it wouldn't be an option for 60mm rads. I didn't find it an aesthetically appealing option and opted for a pull on my top radiator only. If you're using mosfet cooling you would be tight against it with a 60mm rad in push/pull, but it's certainly an option for most motherboards.
