finally upgrading my main PC after 5 years. and the only reason was because I needed more cpu/ram for working with blender. I was playing modern games at 60+ fps, just didn't see the need like it used to be.
1700x ---> 5900x
16gb ram ----> 32gb
vega 64----> rtx 2080
the gpu being more of a side-grade, as blender doesn't support gpu acceleration on the older AMD cards anymore.
Got the MSI 2080 seahawk as it was more cost effective than buying a card and a new waterblock, and also picked up a monoblock for the CH6+7 just because it was so cheap.
there is also plans for hooking up external rads just to keep the sound levels down. playing total war warhammer 3 for 6 hours saw the CPU hit 80c and the water hit 39c on the old setup.
