  • Define S Build - First Water cooled build

    Hey Guy's,

Just wanted to throw together a quick build log. I've been wanting to do this build for a couple years now initially I was going to do build in my old Corsair 500R then switched to a Corsair 750D and finally settled on the Fractal Design S. My goal with this build was to have clean lines with minimal angled fittings to try and highlight the acrylic tubing. I didn't want to tackle too much at once so I focused on getting the CPU complete. I will add my GPU to the loop some time in the spring probably because I'll most likely be upgrading my MB and CPU around that time as it's getting a little long in the tooth....

All of my bends came out pretty good. The only one I'm not happy with is the one going from the rad to the reservoir. I originally planned on running the tube along the rad but I didn't think the 90 bend from the reservoir going up the rad would be so tight. I'll be re doing this when I have more 90's.

All looks excellent to me, shots are very good with a nice depth of field.
What sort of camera and lens combination are you using ?
Great vivid blue you are using, kind of pops out nicely.

Thanks guy's... I need some input on my sleeving... I'm thinking purple/black or purple/white ? The coolant is actually mayhem's deep purple but I think the white LED are turning it more of a bluish... I may remove the white LED strip and put in an RGB strip so I can mess around with the colors...

That's some sweet bending work for a first timer! Nice shots too, although it doesn't look anywhere near purple. Does it look purple in natural light?

That purple pastel is really not what i call purple, must be british thing. I would add drop of red dye

I'll be ordering some violet UV sleeving soon. Is that going to clash ? Will the red dye make it more purple ??

Adding a bit of red dye will make it more purple if that's what your after. I would get the sleeving first and then add dye until you are satisfied with the colour. Should look good either way, and if you use the RGB light like you said colours will blend together better under coloured light.
